Alan Cain (b.1987) is an American interdisciplinary artist in Chicago, IL, known for his bold, crisp, and colorful designs. Much of his inspiration can be found in flamboyant graphic design, modern architecture, minimalism and the arrangements of simple geometric shapes, utilized to engage the viewer with organizational complexity.
His Bachelor’s degree with a double concentration in Sculpture and Ceramics allowed him to experiment with an array of materials, new perspectives, and opportunities to create functional, sculptural, and site-specific works and add this skill-set to his repertoire. Most recently the majority of his work has returned to painting two-dimensionally, as well as working digitally.
